Sept. 5 proclaimed Gary Mule Deer Day by Spearfish City Council

SPEARFISH — The Spearfish City Council proclaimed Tuesday, Sept. 5 as Gary Mule Deer Day, in recognition of the comedian, songster, and South Dakota native.

It’s been a big year for Mule Deer so far, who became the 230th member of the Grand Ole Opry in March. In July his induction into the South Dakota Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was announced, and on Friday he’ll be inducted into the South Dakota hall of Fame.
